Jonathan Kane was born in Miami Beach, Fl. in 1957.

He currently lives in Naples, Fl.

One of the most important roles of the human psyche is the development of a personal identity.  Our identity is what shapes our behaviors and beliefs, and ultimately determines what roles we will manifest in the world at large. The identity's development and maturity are crucial factors that determine the way humans interact personally, socially, and professionally.  These photographs are a theoretical glimpse into the private world of self-awareness and attempt to suggest how the self interacts with its own perceived identity. By endeavoring to strip the self of social and environmental influences, as well as the inevitable aging process, these photographs strive to reveal humanity at its most vulnerable and private, in order to arrive at the spiritual nakedness of the human condition.
